]]>The field-proven Rugged Systems™ UPS line is ideally suited for military, industrial, computer and telecommunications applications requiring high reliability, rugged construction, compact size, and lightweight design. These units are equally suited for use in shipboard, airborne, vehicular, field deployed, or fixed locations with controlled or uncontrolled environments. The"N5 Series" was specifically designed to save rack space and installation costs while enhancing the functionality of both the UPS and PDU. The "N5 Series" does not require a separate PDU since the PDU functions are already integrated into the UPS module. This saves rack space, cabling, and expense while improving overall reliability.
The heavy-duty chassis occupies only 3U of Rackspace while delivering up to 1550 VA of clean, uninterruptible power. The rounded metal corners and rugged handles, both front and rear, aid in safe handling. The optional mounting kit includes flanges and legs for either horizontal or vertical positioning. Internally, all major components are well secured and electrically insulated to prevent damage due to shock and vibration. An internal transformer bay accommodates the input isolation transformer with provisions for both domestic and optional international voltages. The LED arrays keep the operator informed as to the unit's status including load and battery levels. The high-intensity audible alarm can be heard in high noise environments, yet is easily adjustable to suit quieter conditions. All controls and protective devices are brought to the front panel with critical switches or breakers guarded. Further, all front panel devices are recessed to prevent damage or accidental operation.
The internal intelligent PDU allows control of the individual output circuits incorporating thermal and interlock interfaces for additional control and safety, plus Battleshort override. The display and control panel can be mounted remotely in the rack or on the front panel with only a logic-level cable connection. The input circuit breaker and the galvanic isolation transformer all provide a double pole isolated source for all installations including shipboard systems or overseas locations where phase references and grounding are not consistent.
The rear panel provides locking connectors for the input and output power. A washable intake air filter and high-capacity stainless steel ball-bearing fans provide added protection in both controlled and hostile environments. Typically the exhaust air is diverted out the front vents or easily changed to vent out the sides or both. The external battery connector allows the safe and easy addition of the standard or extra
battery modules without having to shut the unit down. The batteries are maintenance-free with immobilized electrolyte and are constructed of flame retardant materials
For more information, see the Battery Technology section. The Status connector provides an interface with optional computer software providing loss of AC and low battery status as well as remote shut down capability.

]]>The heavy-duty chassis occupies a minimum of space while delivering up to 1550 VA/1100 Watts of clean, uninterruptible power. The rounded metal corners and rugged handles, aid in safe handling. Internally, all major components are well secured and electrically insulated to prevent damage due to shock and vibration. While designed to be portable, the same unit can be mounted in a rack or mounted to a horizontal or vertical surface using the optional stainless steel mounts.
The provisions for both domestic (CONUS) and international (OCONUS) input voltages, the auto-ranging input voltage selection allows inputting any AC voltage from 80 to 270 VAC (i.e. nominal 100, 115, 120, 200, 220, 230 or 240 VAC sources) and any frequency from 45 to 440 (i.e. nominal 50, 60 or 400 Hz sources) without special cables or having to open the UPS enclosure. Alternately, the unit also accepts vehicular or aircraft power from nominal 24 VDC systems. This allows the unit to be operated when no AC source is available. Optional 12 VDC versions are also available.
The high-reliability LED arrays keep the operator informed as to the unit’s status including load and battery levels. The high intensity audible alarm can be heard in high noise environments. For situations requiring more stealth, the LEDs can be dimmed or extinguished and the audible feature disabled. All controls and protective devices are brought to front and rear panels with critical switches having finger guards to prevent damage or accidental operation.
The ETI0001-1251AE has the added benefit of having a field replaceable battery via front draw-out battery module. The battery is a true hot-swappable module and does not require going to bypass like competing units. Even with this battery module removed, this UPS can continue to operate as an electronic power conditioner and frequency converter, providing clean, well regulated, sinusoidal power to the load. The batteries are maintenance free with immobilized electrolyte and are constructed of flame retardant materials for added safety. For more information, see the Battery Technology section. The Status connector provides an interface with optional computer software providing loss of AC and low battery status as well as remote shut down capability.
