Rugged Rackmount Global Isolated 3100 VA System with 1550 VA UPS Plus 1550 VA Electronic Conditioner
US Army and NATO Standard Product WorldPower™ Accepts 85-270 VAC, 46-440 Hz Input Isolated 1550 VA UPS PLUS an Additional 1550 VA Electronic Power Conditioner for a Total of 3100 VA Cold Start Feature Elapsed Time Indicator Modular Power System
The field proven WorldPower™ UPS line is ideally suited for military, industrial, computer and telecommunications applications requiring high reliability, rugged construction, compact size and light weight design. These units are equally suited for use in shipboard, airborne, vehicular, field deployed or fixed locations with controlled or uncontrolled environments. The “ETI0001-1037” was initially designed for the US Army and NATO for worldwide field deployment.
The heavy-duty electronics and battery chassis together occupy only 8.75″ (5U) of rack space. They have rounded metal corners and rugged handles, aiding in safe handling. Internally, all major components are well secured and electrically insulated to prevent damage due to shock and vibration. This system is generally deployed in one of the optional weather proof Transit Cases with additional shock isolators and removable casters.
The internal shielded input transformer provides galvanic isolation with provisions for both domestic (115 VAC, CONUS) and international (230 VAC, OCONUS) input voltages. The input voltage selection is automatic without having to open the UPS enclosure. The unit also operates as a frequency converter, taking 46-440 hertz input and converting it to clean, uninterruptible 60 hertz power.
The LED arrays keep the operator informed as to the unit’s status including load and battery levels. The Elapsed Time Indicator records the number of operational hours for records and scheduling preventative maintenance of attached equipment. The high intensity audible alarm can be heard in high noise environments, yet is easily adjustable to suit quieter conditions. All controls and protective devices are brought to front and rear panels with critical switches having finger guards. Further, all front panel devices are recessed to prevent damage or accidental operation.
The rear panel provides locking connectors for the input and output power. Multiple input and output power panel options are available. A removable and washable intake air filter and high capacity stainless steel ball bearing fan provide added protection in both controlled and hostile environments. The air is drawn from the rear and exhaust air is diverted out the front vent, with alternate air flow directions optional. The external battery connector allows the safe and easy addition of the standard or extra battery modules without having to shut the unit down. The batteries are maintenance free with immobilized electrolyte and are constructed of flame retardant materials. For more information, see the Battery Technology section.
The unit also operates as a frequency converter, taking 46-70 hertz input and converting it to 60 hertz power. A frequency selection switch is available for those sites requiring 50 hertz output instead of the standard 60 hertz. The Status connector provides an interface with optional computer software providing loss of AC and low battery status as well as remote shut down capability.
See the Power Distribution Units section for a listing of stand alone PDUs. See the N5 Series for a version of this UPS with an integrated PDU and remote control.
The Rugged Power line is uniquely qualified for critical shipboard, vehicle, airborne or land based systems combining advanced modular design features with highly reliable construction.
