The field-proven PowerStation™ UPS line is ideally suited for military, industrial, computer, and telecommunications applications requiring high reliability, rugged construction, compact size, and lightweight design. These units are equally suited for use in shipboard, airborne, vehicular, field deployed or fixed locations with controlled or uncontrolled environments. The “ETI0001-1229AB” was initially designed for US Navy shipboard applications, becoming the standard for several programs.

The heavy-duty chassis occupies only 3U (5.25″) of rack space while delivering up to 2000 VA of clean, uninterruptible power. The rounded metal corners and rugged handles, aid in safe handling. Internally, all major components are well-secured and electrically insulated to prevent damage due to shock and vibration. The optional mounting kit includes flanges and legs for either horizontal or vertical positioning.

The internal shielded input transformer provides galvanic isolation with provisions for domestic (115 VAC, CONUS) and optionally for international (230 VAC, OCONUS) input voltages. For field-deployed scenarios, the Cold Start feature allows the unit to run from its battery module before external AC is available. The input switch and the galvanic isolation transformer all provide a double pole isolated source for all installations including shipboard systems or overseas locations where phase references and grounding are not consistent.

The LED arrays keep the operator informed as to the unit’s status including load and battery levels. The high-intensity audible alarm can be heard in high-noise environments, yet is easily adjustable to suit quieter conditions. All controls and protective devices are brought to the front and rear panels with critical switches or breakers guarded. Further, all front panel devices are recessed to prevent damage or accidental operation. Various optional power distribution controls are available which are mounted on the front panel or remotely.

The rear panel provides locking connectors for the input and output power. Multiple input and output power panel options are available. A removable and washable intake air filter and high-capacity stainless steel ball-bearing fan provide added protection in both controlled and hostile environments. The air is drawn from the rear and exhaust air is diverted out the front vent, with alternate airflow directions optional. The external battery connector allows the safe and easy addition of extra

battery modules without having to shut the unit down. The batteries are maintenance-free with immobilized electrolytes and are constructed of flame-retardant materials. For more information, see the Battery Technology section. The unit also operates as a frequency converter, taking 46-70 hertz input and converting it to 50-hertz power. A frequency selection switch is available for those sites requiring 60-hertz output instead of the standard 50-hertz. The Status connector provides an interface with optional computer software providing loss of AC and low battery status as well as remote shutdown capability.

The field-proven Military Power® UPS line is ideally suited for military, industrial, computer, and telecommunications applications requiring high reliability, rugged construction, compact size and lightweight design. These units are equally suited for use in shipboard, airborne, vehicular, field deployed or fixed locations with controlled or uncontrolled environments. The ETI0001-2227AH is specifically designed for lightweight global power by the US Navy as the power source for critical systems because of the stringent performance and reliability requirements.

The heavy-duty chassis, occupies only 5.25”(3U) of rack space while delivering up to 1000 VA of clean, uninterruptible power. The rounded metal corners and rugged handles front and rear, aid in safe handling. Internally, all major components are well secured and electrically insulated to prevent damage due to shock and vibration.  These units can be mounted horizontally or vertically. Optional heavy-duty rack slides provide easy installation and removal of the unit with full extension.

The internal shielded input transformer provides galvanic isolation with provisions for both domestic(115 VAC, CONUS) and international (230 VAC, OCONUS) input voltages. The auto-ranging input voltage selection allows inputting either 115 VAC or 230 VAC without having to open the UPS enclosure. Special EMI/RFI filters and input power factor correction minimize both input current and harmonics. The unit also operates as a frequency converter, taking 46-70 hertz input and converting it to clean, uninterruptible 60 hertz power. Optionally, 46-440 hertz input as well as either 50 or 400 hertz outputs are available.

The LED arrays keep the operator informed as to the unit’s status including load and battery levels. The Elapsed Time Indicator records the number of operational hours for records and scheduling preventative maintenance of attached equipment. The front panel also provides easy access to both the AC Input and Battery Input fuses. Coupled with the adjacent spare fuses, MTTR is reduced to less than 15 minutes.

The internal intelligent thermal sensors provide two stage monitoring of unit temperatures, with both local and remote Battle-short override capability of thermal shutdown. Battle-short can be engaged via the front panel control, via a remote contact input or via a software command. When in Battle short, an audible alarm is sounded and an indicator is lit. The high intensity audible alarm can be heard in high noise environments and includes an audible enable/disable switch.

All controls and protective devices are brought to the front and rear panels with critical switches or circuit breakers having finger guards. Further, all front panel devices are recessed to prevent damage or accidental operation. Clips on the front panel hold spare fuses for ready access. The input circuit breaker and the galvanic isolation transformer all provide a double pole isolated source for all installations including shipboard systems or overseas locations where phase references and grounding are not consistent. The manual bypass feature included is operated from the front panel. Even in the bypass mode, the ETI0001-2227AH still provides galvanic isolation, transient surge protection and EMI/RFI filtering.

The ETI0001-2227AH has the added benefit of having a field-replaceable battery via front draw-out battery module. The battery is a true hot-swappable module and does not require going to bypass like competing units. Even with this battery module removed, this UPS can continue to operate as an electronic power conditioner and frequency converter, providing clean, well regulated, sinusoidal power to the load. The batteries are maintenance free with immobilized electrolyte and are constructed of flame retardant materials for added safety. For more information, see the Battery Technology section. The Status connector provides an interface with optional computer software providing loss of AC and low battery status as well as remote shut down capability.

The field-proven Rugged Systems™ Power Distribution Unit (PDU) line is ideally suited for military, industrial and telecommunications applications requiring a rugged rack, vehicular or field-deployable, high reliability, compact size and lightweight design. The rounded metal corners aid in safe handling. Internally, all major components are well secured and electrically insulated to prevent damage due to shock and vibration. All controls and protective devices are brought to the front panel. Further, all front panel devices are recessed with critical switches or breakers guarded to prevent damage or accidental operation.

    Power Distribution Units (PDU)

ETI offers as part of its PowerStation line, individual branch circuit control.  The Power Distribution Units (PDU) can be integrated as part of the UPS unit or as separate modules.  Each of the PowerStation UPS products offers up to six (6) branch circuits integrated into the UPS module with individual circuit protection and power outlets.  The circuit protection can be breakers, fuses, or switches.  The power outlets can be standard, twist-lock, or military receptacles or terminal blocks.  If more than six (6) circuits are needed, the PowerStation PDU Module can provide up to sixteen (16) circuits in groups of four (4).  Custom configurations are also available.

    Distribution Load Control

In conjunction with the PDU functions (in either the UPS configuration or the separate PDU Module), each of the individual circuits can be remotely controlled ON or OFF.  External dry contacts are connected via a second DB-25 connector to control these circuits.  This optional function is extremely useful in applications requiring remote control of loads or safety interlock features (de-energize equipment when racked out).  The low-energy 5 VDC logic and encapsulated solid-state power relays are safe for almost any environment.

    Selective Load Shedding

As a further enhancement to the Distribution Load Control, the Selective Load Shedding feature allows the user to select less critical loads that can be shed during a power outage to extend the battery reserve time for the more critical loads.

    Thermal Load Shedding

Distribution Load Control is equipped with an optional two-stage thermal shutdown feature.  The sensors can be mounted in the equipment racks or remotely.  The first stage turns ON an LED indicator and generates an audible alarm and the second stage will shed either selected or all connected loads.  This function is useful in uncontrolled or remote environments.

    Dual Source Input

The PowerStation UPS is available with a Dual Source Input with Input 1 as the primary source and Input 2 as the alternate source. If Input 1 fails, the unit automatically transfers to the secondary source, Input 2. When Input 1 returns to normal, the unit automatically returns to that source. The Dual Source Input option is available with either the standard UPS configuration or with the Power Conditioning Only option providing an added degree of reliability to critical loads.

The field-proven Rugged Systems™ Power Distribution Unit (PDU) Battery Power Supply line is ideally suited for military, industrial and telecommunications applications requiring a rugged rack, vehicular or field-deployable, high reliability, compact size, and lightweight design. The heavy-duty chassis occupies only 1U (1.75”) of rack space while controlling up to 3600 VA of power via four double pole controls. The rounded metal corners aid in safe handling. Internally, all major components are well secured and electrically insulated to prevent damage due to shock and vibration. All controls and protective devices are brought to the front panel with critical switches or breakers guarded to prevent damage or accidental operation.

The double pole input breaker provides overload and short circuit protection for the whole unit. The PDU allows control of the individual output circuits. The optional Emergency Power Off (EPO) function can remotely open the input circuit breaker. Each load is controlled and protected by double pole shock-rated circuit breakers avoiding accidental operation due to shock or vibration. The indicator arrays keep the operator informed as to the unit’s status. The elapsed time hour meter tracks the rack equipment operation for maintenance.

The rear panel provides locking connectors for the input power, output power, and fan power. The combination MS input connector and input EMI/RFI filter provides suppression of conducted EMI. The transient surge suppression helps further protect the connected equipment.

Overall, the Rugged Power product line is uniquely qualified for critical shipboard, vehicle, airborne or land-based systems combining advanced modular design features with highly reliable construction.
