]]>The heavy duty chassis occupy only 3U of rack space while delivering up to 1550 VA of clean, uninterruptible power. The rounded metal corners and rugged handles, both front and rear, aid in safe handling. The optional mounting kit includes flanges and legs for either horizontal or vertical positioning. Internally, all major components are well secured and electrically insulated to prevent damage due to shock and vibration. An internal transformer bay accommodates the input isolation transformer with provisions for both domestic and optional international voltages. The LED arrays keep the operator informed as to the unit’s status including load and battery levels. The high intensity audible alarm can be heard in high noise environments, yet is easily adjustable to suit quieter conditions. All controls and protective devices are brought to the front panel with critical switches or breakers guarded. Further, all front panel devices are recessed to prevent damage or accidental operation.
The internal intelligent PDU allows control of the individual output circuits incorporating thermal and interlock interfaces for additional control and safety, plus Battle short override. The display and control panel can be mounted remotely in the rack or on the front panel with only a logic level cable connection. The input circuit breaker and the galvanic isolation transformer all provide a double pole isolated source for all installations including shipboard systems or overseas locations where phase references and grounding are not consistent.
The rear panel provides locking connectors for the input and output power. A washable intake air filter and high capacity stainless steel ball bearing fans provide added protection in both controlled and hostile environments. Typically the exhaust air is diverted out the front vents, or easily changed to vent out the sides or both. The external battery connector allows the safe and easy addition of the standard or extra battery modules without having to shut the unit down. The batteries are maintenance free with immobilized electrolyte and are constructed of flame retardant materials.
For more information, see the Battery Technology section. The Status connector provides an interface with optional computer software providing loss of AC and low battery status as well as remote shut down capability.
For more information:
Overall, the Outdoor Rugged Power line is uniquely qualified for critical shipboard, vehicle, airborne or land based systems combining advanced modular design features with highly reliable construction.

Removable and washable air filters and a high capacity stainless steel ball bearing fans provide added protection in both controlled and hostile environments. The exhaust air is diverted out the front vent, with alternate air flow directions optional. The ETI0001-1255 has a unique feature: a of a drip proof front panel for the Trident submarine. This application required that water could not enter the unit if the panel was at a 15 degree tilt (facing upward). To ensure this, we used rubber switch covers on the toggle switches, a thin clear sheet of material was adhered to the back of the front panel between the LED display card, and the cooling was switched to rear air intake and exhaust out forward upper side vents instead of the front panel.

]]>The field proven Rugged Power™ UPS line is ideally suited for military, industrial, computer and telecommunications applications requiring high reliability, rugged construction, compact size and light weight design. These units are equally suited for use in shipboard, airborne, vehicular, field deployed or fixed locations with controlled or uncontrolled environments. The “ETI0001-1038” was initially designed for US Navy shipboard applications, becoming the standard for several programs.
The heavy-duty chassis occupies only 3U (5.25″) of rack space while delivering up to 1550 VA of clean, uninterruptible power. The rounded metal corners and rugged handles, aid in safe handling. Internally, all major components are well secured and electrically insulated to prevent damage due to shock and vibration. The optional mounting kit includes flanges and legs for either horizontal or vertical positioning.
The internal shielded input transformer provides galvanic isolation with provisions for domestic (115 VAC, CONUS) and optionally for international (230 VAC, OCONUS) input voltages. For field deployed scenarios, the Cold Start feature allows the unit to run from its battery module before external AC is available. The input switch and the galvanic isolation transformer all provide a double pole isolated source for all installations including shipboard systems or overseas locations where phase references and grounding are not consistent.
The LED arrays keep the operator informed as to the unit’s status including load and battery levels. The high intensity audible alarm can be heard in high noise environments, yet is easily adjustable to suit quieter conditions. All controls and protective devices are brought to the front and rear panels with critical switches or breakers guarded. Further, all front panel devices are recessed to prevent damage or accidental operation. Various optional power distribution controls are available which mount on the front panel or remotely.
The rear panel provides locking connectors for the input and output power. Multiple input and output power panel options are available. A removable and washable intake air filter and high capacity stainless steel ball bearing fan provide added protection in both controlled and hostile environments. This reverse air flow version draws from the front and exhaust air is diverted out the rear vent, with alternate air flow directions optional. The external battery connector allows the safe and easy addition of extra battery modules without having to shut the unit down. The batteries are maintenance free with immobilized electrolyte and are constructed of flame retardant materials. For more information, see the Battery Technology section.
The unit also operates as a frequency converter, taking 46-70 hertz input and converting it to 60 hertz power. A frequency selection switch is available for those sites requiring 50 hertz output instead of the standard 60 hertz. The Status connector provides an interface with optional computer software providing loss of AC and low battery status as well as remote shut down capability.
