]]>The Energy Technologies’ ETI0005-1065 Redundant DC UPS operates as an online Uninterruptible Power System (UPS) and provides the following capabilities:
Total Intelligent Protection Innovative microprocessor control makes the Redundant DC UPS the most intelligent On-Line UPS system available today. The Redundant DC UPS offers NO switching time that eliminates the most remote chance of data loss from dangerous power gaps. Redundant DC UPS true On-Line design continuously powers the load with regenerated clean sine wave power. It protects all attached equipment and data full-time against damaging sags, glitches, brownouts, surges, spikes, overvoltages, and EMI/RFI noise, as well as blackouts. The Redundant DC UPS provides fully redundant DC power conversions and fully redundant battery backup power virtually eliminating single point failures within the power train.
Brownout Regulation Without Battery Drain The Redundant DC UPS protects your equipment against sustained brownouts and overvoltages indefinitely. Even when the input drops or rises beyond normal limits, the Redundant DC UPS regulates the output without any battery drain. This prevents nuisance alarms and shutdowns caused by the UPS that drain the battery during brownouts. The Redundant DC UPS also ensures that full battery capacity is available to handle blackouts that follow brownouts.
Integrated Line Isolation The Redundant DC UPS incorporates a fully rated Isolation Transformer in the same chassis as the UPS, saving rack space and cabling while improving overall reliability. This transformer separates the input power from the output power, which is critical in applications such as shipboard or locations where grounding is in question.
Serviceability The Redundant DC UPS internal design is modular. Internally, the Redundant DC UPS contains a Battery Module and a Power Supply Module. Both the Battery Module and the Power Supply Module are equipped with captive hardware designed to improve service time. The Power Supply Module also contains a Test Point Panel, which allows quick and easy access points to test the Redundant DC UPS.

]]>The field proven Military Power® UPS line is ideally suited for military, industrial, computer and telecommunications applications requiring high reliability, rugged construction, compact size and light weight design. These units are equally suited for use in shipboard, airborne, vehicular, field deployed or fixed locations with controlled or uncontrolled environments.
Chassis have rounded metal corners and rugged handles, both front and rear, aiding in safe handling. Internally, all major components are well secured and electrically insulated to prevent damage due to shock and vibration in any axis. These units can be mounted horizontally or vertically.
The internal shielded input transformer provides galvanic isolation with provisions for domestic (115 VAC, CONUS) and optionally for international (230 VAC, OCONUS) input voltages. The unit also operates as a frequency converter, taking 46-70 hertz input and converting it to 60 hertz power. Special EMI/RFI filters and input power factor correction minimize both input current and harmonics. The input circuit breaker and the galvanic isolation transformer all provide a double pole isolated source for all installations including shipboard systems or overseas locations where phase references and grounding are not consistent. The UPS can operate from either power source automatically and does not use its battery unless both sources have failed.
The LED arrays keep the operator informed as to the unit’s status including load and battery levels. The high intensity audible alarm can be heard in high noise environments. All controls and protective devices are brought to front and rear panels with critical switches having finger guards. Further, all front panel devices are recessed to prevent damage or accidental operation. The internal intelligent PDU allows control of the individual output circuits incorporating thermal and interlock interfaces for additional control and safety, plus Battle-short override. The display and control panel can be mounted remotely in the rack at eye level, or on the keyboard console, or on the unit front panel with only a logic level cable connection.
The rear panel provides locking connectors for the input and output power with various optional configurations available. This allows the unit to be used in either positive, negative or neutral pressure racks. A removable and washable intake air filter and high capacity stainless steel ball-bearing fans provide added protection in both controlled and hostile environments.
The external battery connector allows the safe and easy addition of the standard or extra battery modules without having to shut the unit down. The batteries are maintenance free with immobilized electrolyte and are constructed of flame retardant materials.
For more information, see the Battery Technology section. The Status connector provides an interface with optional computer software providing loss of AC and low battery status as well as remote shut down capability.
For more information see the Power Distribution Units section for a listing of stand alone PDUs
