The field proven Military Power® UPS line is ideally suited for military, industrial, computer and telecommunications applications requiring high reliability, rugged construction, compact size and light weight design. These units are equally suited for use in shipboard, airborne, vehicular, field deployed or fixed locations with controlled or uncontrolled environments. The “ETI0001-2258” is being used by the Canadian Navy because of their stringent performance and reliability requirements.

The heavy-duty chassis, occupying only 7″ (4U) of rack space and 18.5″ depth, has rounded metal corners and rugged handles front and rear, aiding in safe handling. Internally, all major components are well secured and electrically insulated to prevent damage due to shock and vibration.

The internal shielded input transformer provides galvanic isolation with provisions for domestic (115 VAC, CONUS) and optionally for international (230 VAC, OCONUS) input voltages. Special EMI/RFI filters and input power factor correction minimize both input current and harmonics. The unit also operates as a frequency converter, taking 46-70 hertz input and converting it to clean, uninterruptible 60 hertz power. The input switch and the galvanic isolation transformer all provide a double pole isolated source for all installations including shipboard systems or overseas locations where phase references and grounding are not consistent.

The LED arrays keep the operator informed as to the unit’s status including load and battery levels. The high intensity audible alarm can be heard in high noise environments. All controls and protective devices are brought to the front and rear panels with critical switches having fingerguards. Further, all front panel devices are recessed to prevent damage or accidental operation. Various optional power distribution controls are available which mount on the front panel or remotely.

The rear panel provides locking connectors for the input and output power. Multiple input and output power panel options are available. Removable and washable air filters and a high capacity stainless steel ball bearing fans provide added protection in both controlled and hostile environments. The exhaust air is diverted out the rear vent, with alternate air flow directions optional. The “ETI0001-2258” has the added benefit of having afield replaceable battery via a rear draw out battery module. The batteries are maintenance free with immobilized electrolyte and are constructed of flame retardant materials. For more information, see the Battery Technology section. The Status connector provides an interface with optional computer software providing loss of AC and low battery status as well as remote shut down capability.

See the Power Distribution Units section for a listing of stand alone PDUs. See the N5 Series for a version of this UPS with an integrated PDU and remote control.

Overall, the Military Power line is uniquely qualified for critical shipboard, vehicle, airborne or land based systems combining advanced modular design features with highly reliable construction.

The ETI0001-2250AB was specifically designed to mount in the TAC-4 racks and interface with either the TAC-4 PDU or any of numerous ETI PDUs.

The heavy-duty chassis occupies only 5.25″ (3U) of rack space while delivering up to2000 VA of clean, uninterruptible power. The rounded metal corners and rugged handles, aid in safe handling. Internally, all major components are well secured and electrically insulated to prevent damage due to shock and vibration. The optional heavy-duty rack slides provide easy installation and removal of the unit with full extension. Rear shock isolation/alignment bushings off load the slides when the unit is fully engaged.

The internal shielded input transformer provides galvanic isolation with provisions for both domestic(115 VAC, CONUS) and international (230 VAC, OCONUS) input voltages. The input voltage selection allows inputting either 115 VAC or 230 VAC without having to open the UPS enclosure. Special EMI/RFI filters and input power factor correction minimize both input current and harmonics. The unit also operates as a frequency converter, taking 46-70 hertz input and converting it to clean, uninterruptible 60 hertz power. Optionally, 46-440hertz input as well either 50or 400 hertz outputs are available.

The LED arrays keep the operator informed as to the unit’s status including load and battery levels. The high intensity audible alarm can be heard in high noise environments, yet is easily adjustable to suit quieter conditions. All controls and protective devices are brought to front and rear panels with critical switches having finger guards. Further, all front panel devices are recessed to prevent damage or accidental operation.

The rear panel provides locking connectors for the input and output power with various optional configurations available. This reverse air flow version draws air through the front and exhausts out the rear vent into the rack. A removable and washable intake air filter and high capacity stainless steel ball bearing fan provide added protection in both controlled and hostile environments. Clips on the rear panel hold additional spare fuses for ready access.

The ETI0001-2250AB has the added benefit of having a field replaceable battery via front drawout battery module. The battery is a true hot-swappable module and does not require going to bypass like competing units. Even with this battery module removed, this UPS can continue to operate as an electronic power conditioner and frequency converter, providing clean, well regulated, sinusoidal power to the load. The batteries are maintenance free with immobilize

The batteries are maintenance free with immobilized electrolyte and are constructed of flame retardant materials for added safety. For more information, see the Battery Technology section. The two status D shell connectors provide both a contact and serial interface with optional computer software providing loss of AC and low battery status as well as remote shut down capability.
